Food For Thought
Is there a time and a place for everything?
You have probably heard the old saying, "There's a time and a place for
everything." But is this in fact the truth?
Is there a time and a place for prejudice? If so, when and where would
that be? How does it benefit our world? What purpose does it serve?
Is there a time and a place for juding others? Who gave us that position?
Regardless of how much we think we know, is it even a little bit possible that
perhaps we don't know exactly what the other person is going through
and have no way of really knowing why they make the
choices that they make?
Is there a time and a place that is propr for abusing our children?
When and where would that be? Will it give the desired outcome? And what
exactly is the desired outcome to begin with? Was it the best choice or
were there perhaps other options that were not sought out?
Is there a time and a place for hitting adults? Would it be a better
option to try to understand the other person's thoughts and feelings than hitting them in
order to control their behavior or bully them into acting the way
we would like?
As Albert Einstein said, "The important thing is to not stop questioning."
Have you ever paid attention to the most highly respected and brilliant minds
in history? For example: Mother Theresa, Ann Frank and Albert
Einstein.
Have you ever thought about who your own role modelas are and what qualities they
have that are the same and are different from your own and those around you?
Have you ever thought about the good and bad in yourself? Do you realize that
the choice is entirely yours whether to nurture the good in yourself or
build on the bad?
Have you ever stopped to think that people who are in prominent
religious roles, are not necessarily a representation of God,
contrary to popular belief?
Think of the person that you despise the most. Have you ever wondered what
they may have been through in their life to bring them to where they are now? What
hardships they may have encountered? What they are going through currently?
"I keep my ideals, because in spite of everything, I still believe
that people are really good at heart." - Anne Frank (1929-45), German
Jewish refugee, diarist, captured and sent to concentration camp.
There is always a time and a place for love, open arms,
encouragement and acceptance.
