Do you need a nurse when you poop?

There are complications surrounding poop. Juts for starters - poop can cause
hemorrhoids and rectal fistulas. Once you have hemorrhoids, should they become bad
enough, you would have to have surgery. If you have to have surgery, you could die
under anesthesia and God knows what other unforseseen emergencies could arise!

Imagine that you are a child - born into a culture that believes and is 100% committed to
the ritual of going to a little room in the hospital once a day (where you will be monitored
by a nurse) to be sure that your poop comes out OK and without complication. Just the
simple idea that you can't poop at home, in privacy could cause poop problems
(impaction). Knowing that you have to submit to whatever interventions the nurse should
choose is enough to cause extreme emotional distress. What if she doesn't "let" you push
naturally with the urge? What if she has you hold your breath, count to 10 and screams at
you for not pushing "right"?! What if it takes more than 5 minutes to poop and she
decides to digitally disimpact??

Fight for your right to poop at home!!

Hmmm...it makes you wonder - would birthing at home be easier?
